Planning Your Team-Building Activities
During our first meeting to discuss your team-building needs, we'll go over the following questions:
- What are your goals?
- How many people are in your group?
- What are the demographics of your group, including gender, age range, seniority level, and physical limitations?
- What is your budget?
- Have you thought about any activities?
With these answers in mind, our event coordinator can start preparing the perfect team-building activities for you.
Options for a Variety of Groups
Whether your group is large or small, we can put together a plan that meets your needs. We can also work with a variety of locations in Lansing. If you don't want to have the activities in your office, we can use our corporate event planning experience to hold the exercises in any of the following places:
- Outdoor space
- Meeting room
- Ballroom
- Conference center
Team-Building Activities for Building Trust
If you're interested in team-building exercises that build trust, the following is just one example of what we can help put together:
Minefield: Set up a minefield in a large room or outside space with chairs, tables, balls, cones, boxes, or any other obstacles. Split the group into teams of two. The blindfolded person is not allowed to talk as he starts on one side and navigates across the minefield to the other side. His partner must stand on the sidelines and give verbal directions to avoid obstacles. Before starting, allow the partners a few minutes to create a plan. Also, come up with a consequence if they hit an obstacle, like having to start over from the beginning.
Team-Building Activities to Improve Communication
Team-building games are also good for improving communication in your group. The following is one option we can help you plan:
Back-to-Back Drawing: Split the group into pairs and have them sit back to back. Give one person a picture of a shape or object and give the other person pencil and paper. The people holding the picture has to give verbal instructions to their partners on what to draw, without actually telling them what it is. When they're done, have them compare the picture and the drawing, and then talk about problems they experienced sending and receiving communication.
